Bidons & équipement

Bidons VP Motorsport Container en 20 L et 3 gallons, avec les flexibles, bouchons et pièces de rechange adaptés.

The paddock kit

The last metre to the tank.

Every litre of race fuel ends its journey the same way: out of the drum or pail, into a jug, and through a hose into the tank. That last step is where fuel gets spilled, mixed up or picks up dirt, and it's where a good jug earns its place in the van.

VP's square Motorsport Containers are made in the USA by Plastic Product Formers, VP's own container company. They use 30% more material than a standard utility jug, they're square so they pack tightly, and the caps, vents and hoses all fit together.

Both sizes have a wide bottom grip and a contoured handle for a controlled pour, a cap with an O-ring seal and a separate screw-on vent. VP puts each container through a 15-point quality test and gives it a three-year limited warranty against leaks, splitting and cracks.

20 L square jugs

The classic VP jug in 5.5 US gallons, a little more than a standard 20-litre can. Pick one colour per fluid and the whole team knows what's in it before anyone reads a label.

3-gallon VPSQ containers (11.35 L)

The same build in a smaller jug. Full, it weighs a little over half as much as a 20 L, which counts when you're holding it up to a bike or kart tank.

Hoses & pouring

A jug with a hose fitted pours where you aim it. The two jugs below come with a filler hose; the hoses on their own fit every VP Motorsport Container, in either size.

What it doesBest for
Standard Hose KitA simple filler hose, about 38 cm long, that connects to the jugEveryday filling
Deluxe Hose KitA 36 cm hose with its own cap and a particulate filter; a rubber gasket seals it to the jugKeeping dirt out of the fuel, and capping the hose between pours
Trigger Hose SystemA push-button, self-venting valve. Turn the jug fully upside down and nothing flows until you press; it pours more than 11 litres a minuteFast refuelling without spills, in the paddock or the pit lane
Hose BenderHolds a Standard or Deluxe hose in a clean bend. It also opens and closes the jug, and clips the hose cap out of the way while you pourLess spillage with the Standard and Deluxe hoses

Caps & spares

A replacement jug cap with its O-ring, and a replacement vent cap. Both fit the 3-gallon and 20 L containers directly, so a lost cap doesn't mean a new jug.

Good practice

Keeping fuel clean and known

One colour per fluid

Race fuel in one colour, pre-mix in another, water in a third. Every VP blend is dyed as well, so the fuel's own colour is your second check. Why race fuel is dyed

Label every jug

Write the blend and the date you filled it on the jug. A jug of unknown fuel is a jug you can't use in a car you care about.

Fill it on the ground

Stand the jug on the ground to fill it, never in a van or on a plastic bed liner, so static can discharge safely.

Leave room to expand

Fuel expands as it warms up. Stop filling below the neck, and keep the cap and vent closed when you're not pouring.

Keep it shaded

Store full jugs out of direct sun and away from heat. Race fuel keeps best in its original sealed VP container, so decant what you need for the day.

Keep the hose clean

Cap the hose after use, or use the Deluxe Hose with its filter, so grit from the paddock floor doesn't end up in the fuel system.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can I carry petrol in these jugs on the road?

VP sells these as motorsport containers, for refuelling race vehicles in the paddock and on closed courses and for storing and dispensing fluids in the workshop. They are not sold as approved fuel cans for road use. Before you carry fuel in one on a public road, check the rules in your country; for transport, keep fuel in its original sealed VP container where you can.

Which hose should I buy?

The Standard Hose Kit does the job for everyday filling. The Deluxe Hose Kit adds a cap and a particulate filter. The Trigger Hose System is the one to choose if you want to refuel quickly without spilling, because nothing flows until you press the button. The Hose Bender works with the Standard and Deluxe hoses.

Do the caps and hoses fit both jug sizes?

Yes. The hoses are made for VP Motorsport Containers, and the jug cap and vent cap are direct replacements on both the 3-gallon and 20 L containers.

How long can I keep race fuel in a jug?

Use transferred fuel sooner rather than later. Fuel keeps best in its original sealed VP container; once it has been opened or decanted, keep the jug closed, cool and out of the sun. See the race fuel FAQ for more.

Do you deliver jugs across Europe?

Yes. We deliver jugs, hoses and spares across Europe, and the delivery charge is shown at checkout. See Shipping & Delivery.
